February Student of the Month - Jade Ottens Jade Ottens is the daughter of Becky Ottens and Thomas Jones. Jade thinks that she was selected because she is always keeping a positive attitude and doing her best in the classroom. She also encourages her classmates to do their best. Jade feels like this year she has done a good job of working hard in the classroom and maintaining good grades. Throughout high school, she has participated in FFA and Basketball Manager. Ms. Tobish believes that Jade was selected because she is a kind, hardworking, fun-loving young lady. I believe she got student of the month because Jade is always trying to make those around her feel welcome and included. Her classmates love her and she is a joy to work with at HHS. Congratulations, Jade!

Mr. Hirsch was able to take his sophomore world history class to a once in a lifetime exhibit about one of the most famous leaders, Napoleon Bonaparte, at the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum in Kansas City. They saw many personal items from Napoleon. Including original portraits from the era, gold place settings from his dinner table, one of his famous Bicorn hats, and his actual throne!!
