Miss Thibodeau was Mr. Morgan’s assistant this morning! She won a ticket drawing for positive behavior to earn this. She looked professional and did a great job reinforcing students following the Railway expectations at HES!
It was a great day of wrestling at the Charles McMillen Invitational. The Railers wrestled tough all day.

The middle school staff members chose 8 th grader, Cordell Stiles, as the December Student of the Month. Cordell has participated in football, basketball, track, and band while attending Herington Middle School for the last two and half years. Cordell believes the staff chose him as student of the month because he follows the Railway Expectations in the classroom, hallways, and extracurricular activities and he is willing to help younger peers at sports practices.
Cordell is the son of Vernonda and Dustin Stiles. Written by Amanda Hawkins
Attention Parents of K-3 Students: Reading Roadmap's Literacy-Integrated Family Engagement program, or LIFE, is a key component of our overall strategy for improving literacy for K-3 children. LIFE is designed to bring families together with schools to create supportive connections that will deepen children's relationships with their parents and enhance their literacy skills. Families that are connected to schools and to a community of parents are more likely to reach out to their child's school and to each other for support.
LIFE sessions facilitate emotional and academic experiences aimed at increasing a child's reading skills while supporting a culture of literacy at home. Each week features activities to bring families closer together and create closer connections between families and our school. Parents and children work together to become lifelong learners and readers. The spring 2019 session begins on Jan. 28.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
As part of SCHOOL/DISTRICT commitment to students’ safety and mental health, beginning in January, 2019 we are launching an anonymous reporting program, which will allow students and parents to make anonymous reports about concerns of safety or student wellness. Our program is student-focused, as opposed to crime-focused, meaning it is a tool for alerting caring adults about students who need help—not snitching. This is part of our continuous effort to increase campus and student safety, and provide students with a safe, completely anonymous outlet to share concerns.
Students can use our new P3 Campus app to report: bullying, suicide concerns, depression, sexting, stealing, threats, cutting, abuse, dating and domestic violence, fights, drugs, alcohol, weapons or other types of dangerous situations that threaten their safety or the safety of others. Their reports will be addressed by a trained team of school officials and law enforcement, when necessary.
When you or your student have a concern, you can go to P3Campus.com on your computer, tablet, or laptop-- or you can download the free P3 Campus mobile app-- and make a 100% anonymous report in less than five minutes.
The use of anonymous reporting apps in state programs like Safe2Tell Colorado have proven to be successful in providing the tools and information needed for school officials and to proactively address concerning behaviors, potential incidents of violence, and other harmful situations on campus before they develop. We look forward to working with you and your student to continue making SCHOOL/DISTRICT a safe school.
