HES Families: Because of the forecasted weather, we are going to postpone our “Lunch on the Lawn” and “Down on the Farm Literacy Night” events that were originally scheduled for this upcoming Friday, April 16th. These events will now be scheduled for Friday, April 30th. The “Lunch on the Lawn” will continue to occur during your child’s regularly scheduled lunch time. We will also be switching the menu to chicken nuggets and other food items more conducive to a picnic on the lawn. If you would like to eat a school lunch that date, please purchase your ticket by Thursday, April 29th. Contact the office at 785-258-3234 to purchase tickets and find out your child’s exact lunch time. The “Down on the Farm Literacy Night” is still slated to begin at 6:00 and more information will be sent home sometime in the next couple of weeks. The middle school staff members chose 7th grader, Hannah Pritchard, as the March Student of the Month. Hannah participates in Band, Volleyball, Track, and Quiz Bowl. Hannah feels that she was chosen as the middle school student of the month because she works hard to get good grades while participating in after-school activities. She also believes she works well with other students, listens to directions in class, communicates well with her teachers and follows the Railway Expectations. Hannah is the daughter of Erin and JB Pritchard.
