The HES February student of the month is Maddox Gentz – fifth grade student in Mrs. Schneider’s Class. Maddox has become an amazing role model here at HES. He is a great friend to all of his peers and is always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He makes us laugh daily with his funny personality, which creates a fun learning environment for all of us. Maddox is also a hard worker. Not only is his work always completed on time, but he puts forth his best effort with every task that he is given. We can always count on him to do the right thing, whether we are watching or not. We are so glad to be able to get to know Maddox throughout this school year. He is such an amazing young man, and we can’t wait to see what great things the future holds for him. Maddox is the son of Jason and Brandee Gentz.

On Friday second graders finished a fun Read Across America week by completing a Truffula Tree STEM project from Dr. Seuss's The Lorax. Students had to make the tree (pencil) stand by itself on the cardboard without touching it with their hands. They could only use paperclips and tape to secure the tree. It was a fun way to wrap up the week!! #GameOnRailers
