Biology students are in the middle of a genetics unit this week. Students are working on a dragon activity where they determine their dragon traits and then draw the dragon.
A special thank you goes out to the IServe staff today for all of their extra efforts. A lot of things happen behind the scenes that many do not realize and this crew worked extremely hard today to make tonight’s activities ready for the community to participate in. Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade Scholars Bowl teams for representing Herington phenomenally at the tournament in Wakefield today! 8th grade ended up with 2nd place!
Rule 9 - “Drive with Purpose”. Today Mrs. Beye’s MTSS read the chapters on driving with purpose and then did an activity to share what we thought each person in our groups purpose was. A great pick me up for a Monday morning. To realize our purpose.

Tomorrow nights boys game starts at 6:30 pm. Entry to the game will be $2 for adult and $1 for students.
HES Families: The HES Parent Teacher Organization invites you to a “Sweetheart Dance” in the Herington Elementary gym on Friday, February 15th from 6:30-7:30. There will also be a photobooth set-up in the café. All students must be accompanied by an adult and admission is free. We will have some light snacks and bottled water if anyone needs to take a break from the dance floor!
HES Families: We will be doing our own independent “Hoops for Herington Hearts” fundraiser beginning today through February 15th. The best thing about this fundraiser is that all proceeds will be supporting this local Herington organization and the prizes awarded to the students for working hard to raise this money. More information on the Herington Hearts organization can be found on the students’ packet or by contacting Mr. Morgan.
NOTICE that Senior Recognition Night for Winter Sports will be held Tuesday, February 12th (not the 19th as indicated on the calendar) between the Girls and Boys Varsity Games. We will recognize Senior Band Members, Cheerleaders, Dance and Basketball Players.

The following individual players received Kansas Volleyball Association All-Academic honors. The All-Academic First Team consists of those players who were letter winners and had a 4.0 GPA or higher, and those with a 3.75 to 3.99 were named Honorable Mention.
Herington High School is proud to present three players to the All-Academic 1st Team: Emilie Roe, McKenzie Shippy and Carrie Roe. Four players received All-Academic Honorable Mention: Makayla Coup, Hannah Pohlman, Halle Rutschman and Tristyn Kremeier. Great Job Lady Railer Volleyball Players.
