April Student of the Month - Myranda Stika Myranda Stika is the daughter of Mike and Angie Stika. Myranda thinks she was selected because she is helpful and kind in and outside of the classroom. She tries to always have a positive attitude and “look on the bright side”. Throughout her high school years, Myranda has been involved in Drama Club, Forensics, FBLA, FCCLA, Kindergarten aide, and in Mrs. Beye’s classroom making vinyl signs for the CTSO Auction and different people in the school. When asked, Mrs. Matz said that “Myranda is a positive role model and mentor to her peers. She continues to prove herself and her character by being respectful, honest, and trustworthy. She is active in her community, and can always be counted on to be dependable and reliable.” After high school, Myranda plans to attend Hutchinson Community College.

Last night the HHS Forensics team traveled to Abilene for their last tournament of the season. This was the last chance to get events qualified for state. Also, the only events that could be taken were ones that had not qualified yet. Mr. Hirsch and the team could not have been happier with the results! Angie Morales placed 4th in serious solo. She did not make state this year, but Mr. Hirsch and the team could not be any more prouder of the progress she has done through the season! The IDA team of Hailey Delisle and Tanner Foust received 2nd place, which sends them to state! Finally the Duet team of Madi Becker and Jessica Mascareno received 2nd place, also sending them to state! Congratulations! State Forensics, which is very competitive, will be May 4th in Wichita. The following will be the State bound team: Hailey Delisle in prose, the team of Madi Becker & Jessica Mascareno in IDA and Duet, and the team of Hailey Delisle & Tanner Foust in IDA. Thank you to everyone for their continued support of the team. Go Railers!
