The middle school staff members chose 6th grader, Reid Griffiths, as the October Student of the Month. Reid participates in football, wrestling, band, and swim team. Reid feels that he was chosen as the student of the month because he follows the expectations set by the school with social distancing and wearing a mask, he works hard in class and does his work, he is respectful to peers and his teachers, and he is involved in school and community activities.
Reid is the son of Darlene and Dwayne Griffiths.
Carrie Roe, the daughter of Kenny and Tammie Roe, has been awarded Student of the Month for October.
Carrie thinks she was selected because of her drive to do well. “In academics and athletics, I am constantly pushing myself to be a better person and leader for Herington High School.”
Throughout her high school years, Carrie has participated in Volleyball, Basketball, Track, FBLA, FFA, NHS, Band, Student Council, Drama Club, and serving as the Senior Class Vice President.
When asked, Mrs. Geissert said, “I don’t know of a student who is more complete. She has so many qualities that make her a wonderful student: great listener, compassionate, intelligent, empathetic, hard worker, kind, the list could go on. Congratulations, Carrie!”
Herington High School Football game scheduled for October 29th against Maranatha Academy has been cancelled!

After reading the Training Camp book in Mrs. Beye’s MTSS, seniors had to write playbooks for people in their lives. They were to share ten ideas that make them better then the rest. Senior, Carrie Roe, decided to share her playbook with the 8th grade volleyball team.
Kindergarten students look at the library books they selected during library time today. They are doing a great job of picking books that are interesting to them. #breakingout
Little Railer preschool students listened to the book “I Am Yoga” during library time, and then practiced some yoga moves to help them relax and calm down. #breakingout
