The USD 4 8 7 Covid team has determined that the district will continue to operate in the "yellow". This means that students in grades preschool through 12th grade can continue to come to school in person for the upcoming week. Please continue to practice social distancing, good hand hygiene, and wearing a mask in public. All of these measures are helping to keep our students in school and participating in activities as well!
HES first grade students have started discussing different animal adaptations! Yesterday they conducted an experiment to find out how different beaks help birds eat. The students used pointy and round "beaks" to try to see how to pick up the most food (cut pieces of straws), and again how to pick up food without picking up rocks (beans). It was a fun way to see how birds need different beaks based on the food they eat! #breakingout
