The middle school staff members chose 7th grader, Atalie Alexander as the April Student of the Month. Atalie participates in volleyball, basketball, track, band, student council, archery, swim team, and quiz bowl. Atalie feels that she was chosen as the student of the month because she shows enthusiasm while helping her peers in the classroom and teammates on the court. Atalie feels that she is a positive role model for her peers and she leads by example. Atalie is the daughter of Keri and Josh Alexander.
Last Call for Free Kindergarten Round-Up at Herington Elementary School
Kindergarten Round-Up in the Herington School District will be Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 from 5:30-6:00 at Herington Elementary School. Your child must be five years old on or before August 31, 2023 in order to attend Kindergarten next term.
Prospective students and their parents are encouraged to attend Kindergarten Round-Up and become informed and prepared for your child’s Kindergarten year. Students and families will have the opportunity to meet staff members and hear some important information for next year.
Parents will have some time to fill out enrollment forms and go over medical information with the school nurse. Parents are asked to bring their child’s state-certified birth certificate, immunization records, and a recent health assessment (if available).
Registration is required and we are requesting you please call Herington Elementary School at 785-258-3234 to confirm your appointment for Kindergarten Round-Up. Current HES Kindergarten students will have a regular school day with Kindergarten continuing to be in session on Wednesday, May 3rd.

Mallory Arnold and Aidan Thibodeau spent Friday and Saturday in Topeka at their first State FBLA Board Meeting. Mallory will be serving as the State FBLA Editor and Aidan will be the District III VP for the 2023-24 term. A special thank you to Mr Mason Hinkle for filling in for Mrs Beye who was unable to attend.

This is a reminder to our 6th and 7th grade middle schoolers who are running for Student Council for the 2023-2024 school year. Since the return from Spring Break, HHS students have taken part in morning advisory activities in the gym. The goal is to create a close, welcoming, and supportive culture at HHS. Students and their advisors participate in activities ranging from trivia to riddles to charades. Students are also recognized daily for their achievements in clubs, sports, and positive influence in the school. #Railerproud

Studio 24, aka HHS Broadcasting Club, traveled to Hesston High School to tour the facilities and get some pointers from their Broadcasting Class (Swather Sports Network). Special thanks to the students and their teacher, Katie Gaston!
Here is the schedule of events for the HHS track meet at St. Mary's on Friday. There have been some changes. There will be no preliminaries in the running events. The 4x8 relay will start at 5:00pm.
