HES Families: We are excited for our K-5 Spring Music Program this evening - Tuesday, March 26th! This will begin at 7:00 in the HES gym. Students are encouraged to wear spring colors but it is certainly not a requirement. If students can arrive between 6:30-6:45 and report to their classrooms that would be terrific (there will be no supervision available before 6:30). We will have the HES playground parking lot/doors, HES main entrance parking lot/doors, and HHS main entrance parking lot/doors opened up at 6:30. We are looking forward to another wonderful music performance from our students!

Junior English students tried their hand at baking Depression-Era recipes after finishing the Dust Bowl book, The Worst Hard Time. Two groups chose potato recipes, while another group decided to be a bit more adventurous and make Water Pie. Additionally, students made dill pickles, and all recipes had to be made as "from scratch" as possible.

HES Families: Tomorrow will be the last chance to turn in any fundraising packets from the Herington Hearts fundraiser! We will begin ordering prizes so we need to have all packets turned into the office tomorrow. Thank you for your support of this local, Herington organization! Also, any students that haven't turned in their summer school enrollment packets need to do so as soon as possible. We are going to begin inviting our next wave of students to be a part of summer school based upon the number of students that are enrolled.

In March of 2021, a group of freshman decided to make a video after watching YouTube’s “Life in a Day.” They are now seniors and on the same March day, created an updated version. The link is below and you can also find the original video on the Studio 24 page. https://youtu.be/_t95FvoAjeA?si=h072Gl6OfLMsVnIZ

Yesterday, Sophia Weber visited the KAKE News station to shadow the weekend sports reporter and anchor, Michaela Dea. She got to see her prep for the show and create highlight reels. She also had the opportunity to sit on set and watch the show live from the studio. Sophia’s career goal is to be a sportscaster and she took the initiate to reach out to the news station after Mrs. Beye encouraged her MTSS class to explore job shadow opportunities!
