Herington Pre Season Basketball Tournament Schedule
December 9-13
Seniors in Ms. Clark's English class have the opportunity to experience Shakespeare in a whole new way this year -- with a graphic novel. Students will also read parts of Hamlet in the "old-timey English," as they say, but it is much more exciting in comic form. (And yes, for traditionalist, the graphic novel does follow the play!)

H.E.S. kindergarteners had a short program for their parents today. They sang some songs and enjoyed pie with their families. Happy Thanksgiving!!
More turkey fun! Third graders worked in teams to design and build Turkey Traps. Teams explained how their traps worked to catch the elusive Thanksgiving turkeys!
Mrs. Schwarz's fifth graders had a little pre-Thanksgiving fun and problem solving! Students worked in groups to plan and build towers made out of cranberries and toothpicks. The challenge was to see which group could build the tallest one, and they put a lot of thought into the process:)
FCCLA Food Drive came to an end today. Thank you to all three schools who participated this last month. We received around 500 food item in hopes to replenish the food bank at the FRE.

Angel Tree Angels are ready for adoption! They can be adopted from Central National Bank, First Bank of Hope Herington branch, or USD 487 Board of Education office.
Three students participated in Job Olympics held on Friday November 21st. The event was held in Lyons, KS and 152 students represented 18 schools. Michael Seger competed in Recycling and Car Detailing. Gunnar Tiede competed in Stocking Shelves and took first place. John Thayer also competed in Stocking Shelves, placing second; Sacking Groceries placing third, Stocking a Vending Machine placing third, and Packing a Box placing third. Great job bringing home some hardware, Railers!
Congratulations to the HHS Dance Team and their 5th place finish at today's KSHSAA event!
On this past Thursday, the junior class went on a college visit. Some of the students went to Flint Hills Technical College and others went to ESU. The students who went to ESU also got to experience the ESports gaming facility.
