Last Friday, the H.E.S. library and P.T.O. hosted Family Literacy and Game Night. Those who came enjoyed playing games with their families and friends, flashlight reading in a dark gym, goodies from the cake walk, bookmark making, a light experiment and duck story with Ms. Susan, bingo prizes and more! It was a fun night. Here are part 1 of the pictures. More to come!

Reid Griffiths placed 6th at the State Wrestling Tournament in Hays this weekend. Congratulations on a great season Reid and Coaches!

First and second grade teachers took advantage of the beautiful weather this week and had reading and math lessons outside. Learning can happen anywhere!

Update from State Wrestling Colten and Reid have both lost their second matches and will wrestle tomorrow. Aidan has lost his second match and is done. Great job making it to State, Aidan!

State Wrestling Update: Colton and Reid have won their first matches. Aidan fell short in the first round. All three will wrestle again in a couple hours. Good Luck!

Don't forget, tonight is Literacy/Game Night at the H.E.S. Elementary! We'll have games and activities from 6:00-7:30 in the elementary cafeteria and gym. All children MUST be accompanied by an adult. All activities are free. Hope to see you there!

Grayson Reed from Mrs. Roth's kindergarten class was the winner of the Epic Treasure Chest from our Book Blast! He got a large treasure chest filled with goodies!

Book Blast part 2! Delivery day was like Christmas, with all students receiving at least 2 books to take home!

The BOOK BLAST was here!! Yesterday, books were delivered to students and it was so exciting! The Blast was such a success that each student, preschool through fifth grade, received 2 books to take home, while others received more based on individual funds collected. As a school, we raised over $11,000, and that money resulted in lots of books and classroom supplies for our teachers! Thank you to the families and community for making our Book Blast such a success! And thank you to our special helpers who came in to help hand out books! This is part one of the pictures. Young Gentleman's Association - Herington FBLA Community Service Project

Herington Future Business Leaders of America have implemented a Community Service Project this past school year. This projects main focus was on teaching important lessons to 8th grade boys as they move into high school.

Some of those lessons included: proper dress attire, phone etiquette, how to treat a date, tie a tie, polish shoes, iron shirts, how to take couples pictures, how to dance at an event, how to escort a date, how to pick a cologne, and many more.

The hope of the FBLA Chapter was to help prepare these young men for experiences they were getting ready to have in their high school years.
