We’re still on the hunt for amazing local businesses to sponsor our 2026–2027 Cheer Team! 📣✨

Your support helps us cover uniforms and gives our athletes the opportunity to represent our school with pride all season long.

Sponsors will be featured on team apparel, banners, and recognized throughout the year — it’s a win-win for your business and our team!

If you’re interested or know someone who might be, email kharper@usd487.org or call 785-258-2261 for more details!

The fifth graders have been participating in Starbase these past few weeks. Kansas STARBASE is a premier youth educational program of the U.S. Department of
Defense. Their goal is to motivate students in the areas of Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). With their "hands-on, minds-on" approach,
students are engaged and encouraged to pursue careers in STEM. They have one more session to attend tomorrow (Thursday).

A student favorite was controlling robots! Each student got to program a robot to tell it how far to go and which direction to go to get to the desired target.

For her senior project, Karizma Matthews organized "LPSS Fest." This was a career fair specifically catered toward students interested in Law and Public Safety careers, and Karizma hoped to spark interest in younger students who might be interested in the LPSS pathway, which Karizma will complete in May. Karizma invited and coordinated the following agencies to present to HMS & HHS students this afternoon: Herington Police & Fire, Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Geary County District Judge, Morris/Marion County Attorney Michelle Brown, DK County Sheriff's Department, and DK County EMS

Thank you to Karizma's MTSS and pathway teacher, Mr. Hinkle, for guiding Karizma through this process. Good job to Karizma -- HHS is proud of you! #RailerProud
