Nice win Railers!! 66-24 over Bennington.
The fourth graders read a story called, “The Buffalo Are Back,” about the prairies in Kansas and how Native Americans burned them to keep them healthy. They then had a special guest who talked about what burning the prairies in the present looks. Nathan Brunner is owner of Fire For Hire, a prescribed burning company based out of Marion County. He shared pictures and videos of some of his recent burns. He also brought some equipment and demonstrated a live grass burn. You’ll also notice pictures of deer, buffalo, and elk sheds he’s found on land he’s burned. Thank you to Nathan for bringing prairie burning to life!
