Herington High School August Student of the Month
Brody Brown, son of Diedra and James Bruce, has been awarded Student of the Month for August.
Brody thinks that he was chosen because he feels that he is a good role model to younger kids at the school, and also a leader out on the football field. He also feels that the teachers have recognized that he has changed himself for the better after learning from his mistakes throughout high school.
Throughout his high school years, Brody has been apart of the football and basketball teams.
When asked, Mrs. Beye said, “Brody does what he can to help others out. He is always willing to be a positive part of the classroom and works hard to please others.”
Congratulations, Brody!

Mrs. Koehn's class completed an activity today that required them to draw a picture of themselves and then write descriptive words about their characteristics. Then, Mrs. Koehn cut the papers apart and mixed them up, and distributed the descriptions to the class. The final step was for students to read the descriptions and match them to the correct picture of each student! #beingallwecanbe
First graders learn how to solve problems and how to work out disagreements with their friends during a lesson from the Second Step curriculum. Miss Fegan and Mrs. Koehn combine their classes when they teach this curriculum that addresses social and emotional growth. #beingthebestwecanbe.
