Good evening. Herington schools will be closed on Friday January 31st due to higher than average student and staff illness. Homecoming activities will be rescheduled to February 4th. The homecoming dance will take place on February 8th. Northern Heights Basketball make-up game to be determined.

Second graders celebrated the 100th Day of School on Tuesday. They participated in various 100th Day activities in math and reading, made cool glasses and crowns, and had a yummy snack. #beingallwecanbe

Carrie Roe
Carrie Roe is the daughter of Tammie and Kenny Roe.
Carrie believes she was chosen because she is “hard working, a determined student with big goals for myself. I maintain a 4.0 GPA wile still being involved in multiple extracurricular activities that have allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and grow as a person. I always strive to be the best person I can be to act as a role model and leader to younger students at Herington.”
Carrie is a Junior who involves herself in volleyball, basketball, track, FBLA, FFA, Student Council, NHS, Scholar’s Bowl, Forensics, and is currently her Class President.
When asked, Mrs. Beye said, “Carrie has developed into an exceptional leader over the past year. She has worked hard to change her way of thinking and realizes the importance of being a positive leader in her school, community and state. I am very proud of her accomplishments and look forward to what is to come for her in the future.”

Tonight we will recognize 8th Grade Cheerleaders and Basketball players after the A-Team Girls game, approximately 6:15pm. Go Railers!

Congratulations to Rhonda Levens for receiving the USD 487 Educator of the year award. She teaches art and graphic design for grades 6-12. Rhonda came to Herington after teaching in Syracuse for 19 years.


Congratulations to Kyla Haws for receiving the honor of Young Citizen of the Year. Kyla is a senior at Herington High School.


The MS cheerleaders had a team unity activity on Saturday at the bowling ally.




Congratulations to Dr. Nick Morgan, HES principal! He was named Citizen of the Year at the annual Tri-County Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet tonight.


Good job HMS!! Both girls and boys beat Wakefield. Girls won 38 - 21 and Boys won 36 - 23.
