Mrs. Beye’s Business Essentials class went through the first round of job interviews this morning. Students chose a job of interest and completed the paperwork, resume and cover letter to apply for that job. Thank you to Susan Mueller, Deb Geissert and Bret Beye for your help this morning. The rest of the class will interview tomorrow.
The Ag Department was awarded a grant that allowed them to purchase this tower garden. It is a fully automated hydroponic system that the students are using to grow lettuce and basil. After the holidays we plan to start tomatoes in the system as well!
Herington Apollo Redesign team completes an activity during a monthly meeting with other school districts going through redesign. This team is working hard to improve and enhance the education of your child!

Herington High School FBLA/Business students spent the morning at Emporia State University learning about careers in business.
NHS students took over 700 items to the local FRE after a class competition food drive. The winning class (Juniors) collected over 250 items. Thanks to all who participated!
Roger Walls from the Abilene Masonic Lodge came to HHS this morning. He announced the winner of the essay contest that juniors entered. Hannah Pohlman was chosen. Her essay has advanced to the state level. Winners at that level will be announced in March.

Second graders have been learning about graphing. One activity was to create three graphs using data they gathered from a bag of M&Ms. #beingallwecanbe
Second graders explore magnets as part of a reading lesson about the earth's forces. Students had to find different objects in the room, predict whether or not they would stick to a magnet, and test their predictions. #beingallwecanbe

HHS FCCLA students have started leading line dancing activities at the elementary school on Tuesday mornings. This week was "Going On A Bear Hunt" yoga. This is a great way to help students get their wiggles out before school starts. #beingallwecanbe
Fifth graders learned about the history of the Macy’s Parade and used boxes to create balloons. They held a parade for parents and HES students before Thanksgiving Break. #beingallwecanbe
Girls Middle School Railer Basketball played well and earned two wins with the A-Team out scoring Canton-Galva 35-28. The boys C, B, and A teams lost to a very talented Canton-Galva team.
