Senior Spotlight is on virtual student, Logan Barrett. Logan is the son of Joseph and April Barrett. The activities he was involved in during high school were Football and FCCLA. His future plans will be attending a Technical School to become a diesel technician. His favorite high school memory was watching everyone gross out while dissecting pigs in A&P. His favorite classes were either A&P or History. When asked about how he was affected by the virus he stated “I planned on finishing up school online so it didn't affect me as much as everyone else.” His message to underclassmen is “don't waste your time with the drama in school and just focus on what does matter. Your future!” Congratulations Logan! #railerproud

Senior Spotlight is on virtual student, Brody Brown. Brody is the son of James and Diedra Bruce. He was involved in Football and Basketball during high school. His future plans are undecided. His favorite high school memory was getting to play football with Kayland Alexander for the last year. When asked his favorite class he said, “weights because I love working out. The weight room was one place I could go to release steam.” “I went online schooling so I already gave up my rights to participate in school functions. Not completing my senior year didn't have a big impact on me like the others.” His message to underclassmen is, “Have fun. It's high school. There's no need to stress as much as you think you do.” Congratulations Brody! #railerproud

This week we start our Senior Spotlight with Kody White. Kody is the son of Tracy Thiel and Goerge Thiel. During high school he was involved in Drama Club and FFA. His future plans are currently undecided. His favorite high school memory was in October when he witnessed Mr. Hirsch drive a little train. “My favorite class to be in was probably my 5th hour since we all would go and help stock the concession stands. Another reason why I looked forward to my 5th hour was because Mrs. Beye would always try to help prepare us for the future. She would take the time out of her day to guide us and make sure that we are all not alone in this.” The hardest part of not completing his senior year at school is, “missing out on all the fun activities with the last couple months of school we had left. We will not have prom, after prom, senior prank, clubs, sports, ect. The one thing that hurts the worst of all would be walking across the stage, getting my diploma, and looking out at the crowd knowing I made it.” He would like underclassmen to know not to mess around on your last year. “You never know it might come back and bite you in the butt.” Congratulations Kody! #railerproud

Our final senior spotlight this week is on Senior Adrina Volkman. Adrina is the granddaughter of Russel and Linay Jones. While in high school she was involved in Volleyball, Track, Softball, FCCLA, HOSA, Yearbook, Student Council, Prom Committee, and Senior Class President. Her future plans are to attend Emporia State University and her major is undecided. When asked her favorite high school memory she stated, “definitely anytime during volleyball season playing with my teammates and then taking our WSL medals home for 1st.” Her favorite classes are Mrs. Mein’s cooking class. “Yes for the food but she is very much like our mom. If she saw we were having a bad day she would talk to you and see what was wrong or if you’re me and you get food on your shirt she would always have a couple extra shirts in her closet that she would let you have.” The hardest part of not being together in school right now is not being able to walk with her class and being around all of them for their lasts and not being able to make more memories. Adrina would like to share with the underclassmen, “enjoy your days being in High School because it really does go fast, go out and spend the time with your friends, be involved, and make all the high school memories that you can before it's over.” Congratulations Adrina! #railerproud

Our Senior Spotlight is on Dakota Swader. Dakota is the daughter of Stacey and Mike Swader. During high school she has been involved in Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Track, HOSA and FFA. Her future plans are to take a semester off and continue to work to be independent. “I want to be able to support myself before I head off to college.” Her favorite high school memory “ is probably basketball season. Coach T and Coach K made my transition to herington easier because I had a practice that I knew would challenge me but would be able to have fun at the same time. Learning lessons about life and basketball. Family is important and very needed in life.” Her favorite core class was history because there was always a fun and eventful time. Mr. Hirsch knew when someone needed some cheering up. When asked what she missed most about not physically being in school she said, “not being able to walk the stage, go to any track meets, go to my senior prom, or create any more memories with friends during school.” Her message to underclassmen is “live your high school years to the fullest because you never know if or when you will miss an activity that you wish you could go and do. Don’t try to grow up too quickly!” Her message to her teachers is “I want to thank the teachers that have been there for me throughout the years. I appreciate all you have done for me. Thankful for all the memories I have been able to make, good and bad, they have made me a better person. I would also like to thank my family for helping and supporting me through the years. I love you!” Best of Luck Dakota! #railerproud
